Music Marketing

 1st Music Marketing Blog Post

Originally, trying to find the right song wasn't too easy because most of us aren't big country fans. After listening to them all we decided that the best choice for us was the song "Beg Steal Or Borrow". The song has a nature feel to it and an almost "on the road" vibe. The basis of the idea is a man on the road, possibly a hitch hiker. He is on some journey, the reasoning never is shown, to maybe accomplish something or just be happy in life. From this idea we decided it would be interesting if the man was originally in nicer clothes and at the end of the journey he is in raggedy clothes, but happy in nature. Of course the journey isn't easy, which is shown, and the man has some low points. But overall the man gets past this and the story/music video ends on a positive note.
In the music video there is also some parts where a musician/singer is just in the moment singing to the song. He is a "natural/clear" country man just singing along to the song. This was the man part that we had any "issues" with because we tried to figure out how in depth we want the storyline to be. This was solved quickly though and we all just compromised for what we believe will look best. It also helped to look at other country music videos and get ideas from them. The research chart was extremely helpful for this because it gave artists to look into.
Our main source that we put our ideas on is google docs. This is where we put our ideas and can go into detail on them. We put things such as, what the characters will wear, location, storyline, etc. We haven't developed everything but we are making good progress. From here, we will begin to get into the details, such as camera angles, editing, background characters, etc. Overall we have the larger ideas for everything and are developing the minor details next.
